New TweetFunnel Functionality Being Demoed at 140TC LA
TweetFunnel is currently demonstrating some exciting new functionality at 140TC in Los Angeles — some of this functionality adds to TweetFunnel’s capabilities as a platform. We are planning to release the new capabilities to TweetFunnel users in early October, 2009.
Twitter-Like API
With TweetFunnel’s new API, third-party Twitter clients and applications will be able to be easily configured to submit tweets to a TweetFunnel account. This will enable TweetFunnel contributors and publishers to tweet through third party clients, but still submit tweets through TweetFunnel in order to be compliant with their organization’s editorial review requirements. TweetFunnel is encouraging other Twitter developers to contact us about integration with TweetFunnel via our API.
Hotwall Integration
Hotwall, an application that allows you to promote your brand by including a call to action in your Bit.ly links, and to track the effectiveness of your promotions, is the first Twitter third-party application to have integrated with TweetFunnel via the new API. Hotwall users will have a new option for submitting tweets to TweetFunnel, in addition to the existing options of submitting to Twitter and email.
Tweet Contribution via SMS
Contributors and publishers will be able to submit tweets via SMS. For example, a TweetFunnel contributor will be able to submit a tweet from a field event and that tweet can be reviewed by a TweetFunnel publisher before it is published to a Twitter profile.
Tweet Contribution via Email
Similar to the the SMS functionality, field users will be able to leverage the email client on devices such as an iPhone or a BlackBerry in order to tweet from field events and from other remote sites.
For both SMS and email tweeting, publishers can specify right from a mobile device whether to publish a tweet immediately, schedule it, or hold for later publishing. A contributor or publisher can also specify which account a tweet should be published to.
Scheduling Tweets for a Specific Time of Day
The existing scheduler functionality in TweetFunnel allows tweets to be queued and then later published to Twitter at intervals during pre-defined time windows. Until now, it has not been possible to schedule a specific tweet for a specific time of day. This functionality has been added and will be rolled out next month.
Brand Monitoring and Alerts
Users will be able to monitor brands based on defined search criteria and TweetFunnel will provide email alerts to users when specific brand mentions occur. An email or text message can be sent with each mention or, alternatively, all individual mentions can be collated into a single email that is sent at a defined time of day.
