The purpose of this widget is to give your organization’s audiences, customers, employees, members, etc. a way to contribute to one (or more) of your organization’s Twitter stream(s) with ease. Just think, your customers could tweet endorsements directly to your Twitter account! (after one of your editors first approves the content, of course)

After we approve your Guest Tweet (through the TweetFunnel editor interface), you will see your Guest Tweet in the right sidebar of this page. You can request Guest Tweeting for your TweetFunnel account under Settings>Manage Twitter Accounts>Modify Third Party Integration.

We are pleased to announce a new set of features for TweetFunnel — released on Sunday, November 15th. We appreciate any and all feedback from Funnelers!

The Ability to Schedule Tweets for a Specific Time of Day

The existing scheduler functionality in TweetFunnel allows tweets to be queued and then later published to Twitter at intervals during pre-defined time windows. Now, it is also possible to schedule a tweet for a specific time of day. The time zone for each user is defined in their User Profile – be sure to set this!

Brand Monitoring and Alerts

Users will are now able to monitor brands based on defined search criteria. Users can set up email alerts to users when specific brand or other mentions occur. These alerts can be sent at defined intervals via email or via SMS. For example, a user can receive an email every hour that contains all the mentions of your company’s brand. An SMS limit can be set for each user under the user’s profile.

Tweet Contribution via Email

Contributors and publishers can now submit tweets via email. For example, a TweetFunnel contributor can submit a tweet from a field event via an iPhone or BlackBerry. That tweet can be reviewed by a TweetFunnel publisher before it is published to a Twitter account. The email address for each Twitter account can be found under “3rd Party Integration” for the account. It’s important for users to disable auto-signatures in their mobile email clients if they are going to be tweeting from their mobile devices so that signatures do not become a part of tweets.

Tweet Contribution via SMS

Contributors and publishers can also submit tweets via SMS. SMS activation must be requested (under 3rd Party Integration) and we will provide an initial sample block of 25 SMS tweets. Additional blocks of SMS messages can be purchased.

Cotag Activation Per Twitter Account

The use of cotags can now be activated/deactivated per Twitter account. Now, you can have cotags set to On for a business account and Off for a personal account. Previously, cotag activation/deactivation was a global setting.

Support for Multiple Administrators

Previously, there was only one administrator per TweetFunnel account. More than one administrator can now be defined.

On Duty Flag

Now, users can flag themselves as on duty, so an editor knows that a specific user is available to receive an assigned tweet. On Duty can also be used as a condition for whether Alerts should be sent.

Improved Tweet Refreshing

You will now always see the most recent tweets as you switch from tab to tab without having to click the More button in order to refresh tweets.

Removal of Reliance on Twitter Performance and Uptime

If Twitter is performing slowly or is down, TweetFunnel’s internal functionality will not be affected.

Fully Redesigned User Interface

TweetFunnel now has a more visually pleasing, easier to navigate user interface. Profile information now displays for the selected Twitter account.

Saved Searches

Users can now search Twitter for tweets based on keywords and save those searches.

Implementation of CoTags

Published tweets can now automatically have the the carat (^) character followed by the contributor’s initials added to new tweets.

Support for BudURL

There is now an option to track BudURL URLs.

Detection of an Already Shortened URL

If you insert an already shortened URL into a new tweet, TweetFunnel will no longer re-shorten the already shortened URL.

Ability to Edit One’s Own Tweets in the Review Queue

Contributors can now make changes to tweets that they have submitted for review, but that have not yet been published.

More Widely Available Follow/Unfollow

There is now the ability to follow and unfollow people within the Mentions and DMs areas.

Improved Performance

Faster tab to tab switching and section to section switching.

Improved Caching Technology

The dependency on Twitter speed and availability has been removed. If Twitter is unavailable or experiencing performance issues, this will not affect any performance of TweetFunnel that does not involve posting or fetching of tweets.

Assorted Bug Fixes

There are a number of fixes to issues that have been reported to us by users.

A few months ago we attended TWTRCON SF and had a fabulous time mingling with passionate attendees in the demo area. Fortunately, we made enough of an impression that those same people voted to hear more about us on the main stage and we were able to give a 140-second pitch to all of the conference attendees. It was an honor to be chosen and it felt great to get up and tell a room full of Twitteratti about TweetFunnel. The clip has just made it to YouTube, so we wanted to share it with you:

Click here to view the embedded video.

Just in case you don’t have 140 seconds to watch our pitch, here’s a summary:

TweetFunnel is a web-based application that makes it easy for multiple users to contribute to one Twitter stream.

TweetFunnel lets you have Contributors and Publishers. Both can add content/tweets to the “funnel.” Only publishers can review, edit and post tweets to Twitter. This gives a layer of editorial control for Twitter.

TweetFunnel can make Twitter less scary for businesses new to micro-blogging. It’s like water wings for Twitter.

With TweetFunnel, you can assign a tweet to another member of your team.

The interface is simple and easy to use.
